🗓 Performance Path: apply within 6 months of building permit issuance. Energy Modelling Assistance Incentive: must apply before tendering AND before the building permit is issued — this one has the earlier cutoff, so don't wait if you're still in design.

If you're designing or constructing a new commercial, multi-unit residential, or industrial building in Manitoba, this is one of the larger incentives available and one of the least well-known. The Performance Path pays out based on how far your design beats the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB) 2020 — the better the performance, the higher the rate, up to $11.20/sq.ft. at 60%+ savings. There's also a time-limited bonus: multi-unit residential buildings using a ground-source heat pump as primary heating get a 100% bonus on the Performance Path incentive, if enrolled by March 31, 2027.
