Mitacs Accelerate – Research Internships
Also known as: Mitacs Accelerate
Funds a company-defined R&D project delivered through a Canadian academic partner. A standard internship unit (4–6 months) provides $15,000 in total funding: Mitacs contributes $10,000 and the partner organization contributes $7,500, covering a minimum $10,000 intern stipend plus up to $5,000 in research costs. A postdoctoral model (4–6 months) provides $20,000 total ($10,000 Mitacs + $10,000 partner), covering a $15,000 postdoc stipend.
Provincial co-funding caps have periodically limited new Manitoba applications in past fiscal years per third-party summaries (not independently re-verified against a Mitacs source this pass) — confirm current allocation status with a Mitacs Business Development Advisor before committing significant proposal-writing time.

- For-profit partners must contribute private-sector funds — funds not sourced from government aid
