Manitoba Innovation Growth Program (IGP)
Also known as: IGP
Non-repayable 50/50 cost-shared grant up to $100,000 for Manitoba CCPCs to commercialize innovative products or processes. Covers prototype development, market testing, IP registration, manufacturing tooling, certification, scale-up activities, and internal salaries for new Manitoba hires (salary costs capped at 50% of total funding). One of the most accessible provincial innovation grants — ideal for any tech, biotech, or agtech company with a product in development.
Contact: mintprograms@gov.mb.ca. Competitive selection process — "Only the strongest applications that meet the objectives of the program will be considered for funding." RE-VERIFIED 2026-09-15: the 2026-07-10 discrepancy is RESOLVED, and in the direction this entry did not assume. That check found the page saying both "now accepting new applications" and "Intake deadline: June 30, 2026" (already past), searched for an extension, found none, and concluded the "now accepting" line was stale. The page now reads "Intake deadline: September 30, 2026" — a new cycle, so the program has been open the whole time this entry reported it closed. The old conclusion was reasonable on the evidence then; what it lacked was a re-check, and the automated drift monitor could not supply one because a deadline moving from one date to another within the same YEAR leaves the extracted number (2026) unchanged. The $25,000 cash-equity requirement was missing from this entry entirely until 2026-09-15; it is corroborated by that same release, which defines it as "a minimum of $25,000 in common or preferred shares invested in the company and/or retained earnings of $25,000 or more". On the revenue/headcount criteria the page and the release disagree in form: the page joins them with a comma under "Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria", which reads as a conjunction, while the release spells out "annual revenue of $15 million or less, or fewer than 100 full-time equivalent employees". The release wins — it is explicit where the page is punctuation. Note also that the release states "The current intake is open until June 30", i.e. the cycle BEFORE this one; no release announcing the September 30 cycle was found (searched news.gov.mb.ca and the open web), so that date rests on the program page alone and should be re-checked before a client is told it. Intake deadline 2026-09-30 — submit before this date.
