Manitoba Industry Expansion Program (IEP)

Provincial, application-based training cost-share for private for-profit companies locating new operations in Manitoba or expanding existing Manitoba operations. Support is custom-prepared per client, sized on the number of net new positions created, total project costs and company contributions, and the economic benefit to Manitoba. It contributes to a company's investment in skills training for both net new hires and existing employees — training delivered internally or by external organizations, curriculum/learning-material development, and lease/purchase of equipment required for the training. Reviewed on a continuous intake basis.

Who qualifies

• Private, for-profit company with a Canadian Business Number, licensed to carry on business in Manitoba
• Locating new operations in Manitoba or expanding existing Manitoba operations
• Funding is custom-sized on net new positions, total project costs, company contribution, and economic benefit to Manitoba
• Eligible costs: training of new hires and existing staff, internal/external training delivery, curriculum/materials, and equipment required for the training
• Net new positions must be retained for at least 2,080 hours of full-time employment through the agreement; routine operating/admin/recruitment/capital costs, R&D, scoping, and past activities are ineligible
